Is seaglass worth any money?

15 October 2026

Yes, some sea glass is worth money, but most finds have little resale value. Common white, green, and brown pieces are usually better suited to crafts or displays than to individual collecting.

Rarer colours, attractive shapes and excellent condition can make particular pieces more desirable. Buyers also want confidence that the glass weathered naturally rather than was artificially tumbled.

If you are considering selling, separate unusual pieces from your general collection and photograph them clearly with a ruler for scale. Compare similar items that have actually sold, rather than assuming an ambitious asking price reflects market value. Include where you found the glass if you know. Enjoy collecting first, and treat any income as a bonus rather than a guaranteed return.

Seaham Multi’s can drive a lot of value, with some pieces hitting £50+. Big blues, reds, oranges, and purples can command decent resale prices, making a day at the beach even more fun when there is real treasure to find.
